Boskalis Wins Australian LNG Project19/10/2009 |
| Boskalis Australia, a subsidiary of Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has been awarded the contract for the construction of a port for the Gorgon LNG project off the coast of Western Australia. The contract value is approximately EUR500 million and was awarded by Chevron Australia in cooperation with Kellogg Joint Venture - Gorgon. Work is set to commence early 2010 and it is due to be completed by the end of 2011. |

The project includes the design and construct of a port including a Material Offloading Facility at Barrow Island, 50km northwest off the coast of Western Australia. Various dredging & marine contracting activities will be constructed under the responsibility of Boskalis. A roll-on-roll-off facility will be constructed in addition to 200 metres of quay walls and mooring dolphins. Furthermore, Boskalis has been assigned the logistical and program management responsibility for part of the basic infrastructure. The project will be executed with a combination of a jumbo cutter, a large hopper and backhoes.
